We are committed to collaborating with our partners to be first on scene in times of crisis with high-quality product and resource donations; to improving access to healthcare through public and private partnerships; and to recognizing and celebrating health systems providers and public health research that advance clinical practice and expand patient treatment.
Product Donations
Baxter supports global health projects in partnership with Health Partners International of Canada (HPIC) with product donations and volunteer teams that help to pack Humanitarian Medical Kits. HPIC equips Canadian volunteers and medical missions, works with humanitarian organizations to stock clinics and hospitals, mobilizes emergency medical relief and builds local capacity. Every year HPIC and its global network of partners provide treatment to about 800,000 children and adults in vulnerable communities in 50 countries. Baxter has supported community health projects, mother-child health projects and special requests with product donations valued at over $1 million Canadian1.
Driving Your Health
Driving Your Health is increasing access to healthcare throughout greater Mexico City.
Driving Your Health: A Free Community Mobile Medical Program is a multi-year initiative that increases access to healthcare for underserved and vulnerable populations throughout the greater Mexico City region. Baxter International Foundation, in partnership with Direct Relief, Asociación Mexicana de Diabetes de la Ciudad de México A.C., Casa de la Amistad para Niños con Cáncer, I.A.P., Asociación Gilberto and Orden de Malta de México A.C. seek to benefit more than 350,000 individuals during the three-year initiative.
Baxter International Foundation Prize Programs
Foster G. McGaw Prize
The Foster G. McGaw Prize honors healthcare delivery organizations for their outstanding commitment to improving the health and well-being of the people they serve through communitywide innovative collaboration.
The annual prize, administered by American Hospital Association (AHA), awards $100,000 to a winning organization and $10,000 to three finalists.
William B. Graham Prize
The William B. Graham Prize acknowledges the national or international contributions of health services researchers who apply analytic methods to examine and evaluate the organization, financing, and/or delivery of health services.
Awarded annually, the $50,000 prize is administered by the Association for University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).
Episteme Award
The Episteme Award recognizes outstanding research conducted by a nurse. The purpose of the award is to reward nurses who make exceptional contributions to the healthcare field.
The $15,000 award is given once every two years and is administered by Sigma Theta Tau, the nursing honor society.
